Finally, we remind you that bec and reed is a marriage watch with precision. The beak is a key driver of your Saxophone or Clarinet, it is the one which will give a tone, his pitch. The quality of a spout is vital , and it is this that allows the Artist to give the whole of its extent, its expressiveness.
It is important to specify the parameters of a bec :
The Table : it is the place of the Reed, which is comprised of two parts, the flat of the table (up to a point of closure) and the curved part of the table.
The Opening : It is a space that exists at the tip of the beak between the Reed and the table.
The Room : This is the part in which the sound is formed, and which collected the air pressure directly from the mouth of the musician, the Bores through which channels the air to send in the Saxophone or Clarinet.
The Ceiling : When you put the spout eb mouth, it is the upper part of the room, the one that has the most influence on the result obtained.
The Passage of the Bore, also denommé Keystone in the beaks of Clarinets : This is a surface that separates the bedroom from the Bore.
The Interaction of these parameters :
The spout must pass the accuracy of your instrument; this accuracy is a must, but the pitch can vary from one country to another and from one orchestra to the other. A bore is larger, lowering the pitch of your Saxophone or Clarinet and can avoid the help of another barrel.
The shape of the curve of the table ( more precisely, the ratio between Opening and Length of the Table) will determine the feel of the Saxophonist or Clarinetist.
The wedding bec and reed is paramount :
For an opening equivalent, a table is longer, requires a reed stronger, the table is shorter, a reed less strong.
For a same length of table, with the beak more open, requires a Reed less strong, with the beak more closed, requires a reed stronger.
The mixture of these components is variable, depending on the morphology of the musician, and the style of music to interpret, gives the elements of the right choice.
